Maria and her 7-year-old son entered the New Beginnings/Arms of Hope program 6 months ago from a homeless woman’s shelter. Maria is a hard worker and is currently employed full time. Her goal is to prepare for community college courses, and she hopes to be a physical therapy assistant. Her son is diagnosed with ADHD and is currently in counseling and play therapy. Since entering the program Maria has paid off $500 worth of debt while accumulating some savings. The future is bright for Maria and her son as they continue to move toward stability and independence.
